[DNR] ‘40s-era dinner & swing dance, Fort Harrison SP, Nov. 10

Entry Description
Join the Barton Rogers Big Band for an evening of big-band music, swing dancing, and dinner at the historic Fort Harrison State Park Inn on Saturday, Nov. 10, beginning at 5 p.m. The event is co-hosted by Fort Harrison State Park, Fort Harrison State Park Inn, the Indianapolis Symphonic Band, and the Museum of 20th Century Warfare.

The dinner-dance will be held in the main lodge of the Fort Harrison State Park Inn. The doors open at 5 p.m., with a cash bar available before the meal. Dinner for the dance is a four-course meal. Dinner will be served from 6 to 8 p.m., with the band performing from 8 to 10 p.m. Patrons are encouraged to dress in WWII era men’s and women’s fashion or semi-formal.
 
The cost for the dinner-dance is $30 a person, $50 a couple. Reservations are strongly recommended, but tickets may be purchased at the door. A room, dinner and dance package is available through the Fort Harrison State Park Inn for the evening for $125 per couple.

The Inn was originally the Fort Harrison Army Infirmary through WWI and WWII, and later turned into the Post Headquarters until the fort was deactivated in 1995. Fort Harrison State Park Inn is located at 5830 North Post Road, Indianapolis.
