Entry Description
The Indiana Department of Transportation will close an 11-mile section of U.S. Highway 52—between Rushville and Andersonville—on Monday, November 5, for approximately 25 days in order to mill and resurface the highway.
INDOT officials met with Milestone Contractors LP, the state’s contractor for this $1,289,726 Greenfield District resurfacing project, Friday work out a timetable for paving operations.
- Closure signs to be placed today or tomorrow
- Milling one-half inch of surface asphalt begins Monday, November 5
- Paving a 1½ inch surface lift of asphalt begins one day behind the milling operation on Tuesday, November 6.
To expedite milling and resurfacing, the state will close U.S. 52 to motorists—allowing local residential traffic to be directed by flaggers through active work zones. This will be a “hard” closure for through-trucks. Indiana State Police are being asked to enforce through-truck compliance.
The schedule calls for all work to be completed—weather permitting—by November 30. |
