US 231 to Close in Dubois County

Closure required for concrete patching

JASPER, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) is announcing that U.S. 231 will be closing in Jasper.  The closure is needed to allow crews to deep-patch a section of the roadway. 

 

On Monday, November 12, crews will be closing U.S. 231 from State Road 64 (S.R. 64) to State Road 56 (S.R. 56).  This is to deep-patch a section of U.S. 231 from Division Road and Twelfth Street, approximately 0.5 miles north of State Road 162 (S.R. 162).  Work will begin at approximately 7:00 a.m. local time and is scheduled to re-open to traffic by the end of the day on Friday, November 16, weather permitting. 

 

No through vehicle traffic will be allowed, however local residents will have access to the point of closure.  All lanes of traffic will be closed at the patch location.  The official detour will route traffic on S.R. 64, S.R. 257 and S.R. 56.

 

The project also includes several sections being patched with asphalt from Huntingburg to Jasper.  This work will be accomplished under traffic.
