Entry Description
Indianapolis, IN- A small plane pilot escaped serious injury today when he crashed while attempting to take off from a grass field on the city’s south side.
Troopers were dispatched to 129 West Sumner at 12:50 p.m. to the report of a plane crash. Emergency personnel found that the pilot, Jeremy Milless, 35, of Monrovia IN had extricated himself from the wreckage and was at a nearby residence. Milless was reported to be conscious and alert. He was transported to Methodist Hospital to be treated for a shoulder injury.
Witnesses reported that the single engine plane was taking off from a grass field when it appeared to strike some trees with the aircraft. The plane did a nose dive and crashed into a separate field. The plane did not catch fire.
The Federal Aviation Administration has been notified and will be conducting the investigation. |
