Entry Description
INDIANAPOLIS – The Court of Appeals of Indiana will conduct a public robing ceremony for its newest member, the Honorable Rudolph R. Pyle III, at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16 in the Indiana Supreme Court Courtroom. Chief Judge Margret G. Robb will preside and Senior Judge Carr L. Darden will administer the oath of office.
Gov. Mitch Daniels, who appointed Pyle to the Court of Appeals on Aug. 7, will provide remarks before Judge Pyle is robed by his parents, Rudolph Pyle Jr. and Caroline Pyle.
Pastor Rolland Daniels of Madison Park Church, Anderson, IN, will give the invocation. The Pledge of Allegiance will be led by Joseph Villanueva, chief deputy prosecuting attorney, Johnson County.
Judge Pyle served as judge of Madison Circuit Court from 2009 until his appointment to the Court of Appeals. He is a graduate of Anderson University, The College of William & Mary and Indiana University Maurer School of Law. His legal career spans a four-year clerkship at the Court of Appeals for Judge Darden, service as Madison County deputy prosecutor, and private practice.
Judge Pyle took the oath of office during a private Statehouse ceremony on Aug. 27. He will repeat that oath during Tuesday’s public ceremony.
Reporters may cover the robing ceremony but will be asked to remain for the duration of the event.
