Entry Description
Review ‘Who’s On Your Ballot?’ at IndianaVoters.com
INDIANAPOLIS (Oct. 10, 2012)—Indiana Secretary of State Connie Lawson is reminding Hoosiers to look up ‘Who’s On Your Ballot?’ before Election Day. Many Hoosiers will see new names on their ballot this year due to new federal and state legislative maps drawn by the Indiana General Assembly during the redistricting process. In some cases, the redrawn maps have moved voters into new congressional or state legislative districts. Voters can review ‘Who’s On Your Ballot?’ at www.IndianaVoters.com.
“Our ‘Who’s On Your Ballot?’ tool is a first-in-the-nation tool for Hoosiers that will help take the shock out of seeing new names on the ballot this November,” said Secretary of State Connie Lawson. “I encourage all Hoosier voters to visit IndianaVoters.com to educate themselves on who they’ll be voting for and where they’ll be voting. An informed electorate is the key to a successful democracy so I encourage all voters to take advantage of this tool.”
To look up ‘Who’s On Your Ballot?’ Hoosier voters can go to www.IndianaVoters.com and enter their county of residence, name and date of birth. ‘Who’s On Your Ballot?’ will list the offices, candidates’ names and party just as it will be listed on Election Day.
Voters may look up their current government representatives using the ‘Who Are Your Elected Officials?’ portal on the Secretary of State’s website. Hoosiers can find out who is representing them from the federal government down to the township level. The ‘Who Are Your Elected Officials?’ website allows Hoosier voters to enter their home address and view a map with their elected officials. Federal, state, county, municipal, township, and school board officials are all readily available, and the website includes contact information such as each official’s website, phone number or email.
The ‘Who Are Your Elected Officials?’ portal lists the office holders who currently represent each area so they may vary from ‘Who’s On Your Ballot?’ if the area has been moved to a new district due to redistricting. The ‘Who Are Your Elected Officials’ website may also be accessed at IndianaVoters.com.
