[ISP] Santa Claus Man Arrested for Child Molesting

Spencer County:  A Santa Claus, IN, man was arrested this afternoon for Child Molesting and Child Solicitation.

Detectives from the Indiana State Police Criminal Investigations Division initiated an investigation yesterday after receiving information from the Dubois County Child Protection Services that Karl B. Rustin, 56, allegedly molested two young girls ages 11 and 13.

Preliminary investigation reveals that for approximately one year Rustin molested the two girls on several occasions in Spencer County.  This afternoon, detectives established enough probable cause to arrest Rustin.  He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Spencer County Jail where he was booked preliminarily on two counts each of Child Molestation a Class A Felony and Child Solicitation a Class D Felony.

Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
