Entry Description
STATEHOUSE (Sept. 28, 2012) – State Sen. Pat Miller (R-Indianapolis) recently helped honor Indianapolis’ Green Tree Living Community with a Distinguished Provider award from the Crisis Prevention Institute’s (CPI) Dementia Care Specialist group.
“Green Tree Living Community is one of many outstanding health-care businesses in our area,” said Miller, chair of the Senate Committee on Health and Provider Services. “It’s a pleasure for me to help recognize their accomplishments and efforts to maintain a high-quality of life for their patrons.”
The senior assisted living community on Post Road was honored by CPI for demonstrating a commitment to high-quality dementia care, including complying with training standards and implementation of CPI’s Dementia Capable Care training and principles. The level of training achieved by distinguished providers helps facilitate positive outcomes, including:
• Promoting the highest possible level of function for those at all stages of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD)
• Maximizing and maintaining health and safety for those at all stages of ADRD
• Maximizing and maintaining quality of life and dignity
Established in 1980, CPI is an international training organization that creates crisis prevention, intervention training and resources to support the work of human-service professionals.
