Entry Description FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) Fort Wayne District announces restrictions will take place beginning tomorrow in the right lane on northbound I-469, between Exit 25 (SR 37) and mile marker 26.5 (Wheelock Road Bridge), for concrete pavement restoration work. The right lane restrictions in this area are expected to be complete by the third week of October.
Additionally, there will be restrictions in the left lane on northbound I-469 between Exit 17 (Minnich Road) and Exit 19 (US 30), also beginning this week. The left lane restrictions in this area are expected to last for about seven to 10 days.
Arrow boards, cones and barrels will direct traffic as needed while the work is in progress. The speed limit along I-469 will be reduced to 60 mph in work zones, with temporary speed limits of 45 mph imposed when workers are present, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists may notice periods of time when lane restrictions are enforced, but construction workers are not present. This is due to the curing time required for concrete pavement.
INDOT reminds drivers to use caution and consider worker safety when driving through a construction zone. For the latest news and information about INDOT, visit www.in.gov/indot. You can find traffic restriction information at www.trafficwise.IN.gov. Contact the Fort Wayne District toll free at 866-227-3555.
