This training is run by INDOT’s Utility and Railroad Division for the purpose of certifying individuals for work as Utility Coordinators. The training is two full days and will include 4 quizzes, two per day.

  • INDOT and ACEC wish to maximize the number of companies with trained and certified utility coordinators on their staff. If your company already has a trained & certified utility coordinator, please do not register for this training session until after July 31, 2014.  On August 1, the registration is open on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.


  • Please arrive 15 minutes before the training to sign in, find a seat and hear announcements prior to the start time of 8:00 AM.


  • In order to register and attend this training, a student must meet one of the following two criteria
    • Have a B.S. in Engineering with at least two years of experience in transportation or utility industries, or
    • Have four years experience in the transportation or utility industries at least one year of which must be in utility coordination.



  • INDOT will NOT provide work books, copies of references or copies of slides for this training.  Reference material can be found under ‘Prequalification’ at  We highly recommend you bring copies of these documents to the training in paper or electronic form.  Access to these documents will enhance your ability to follow along and pass the certification test.  Please wait until a few days before training to print material, as it could change. We recommend you read 105 IAC 13, IDM Chapter 104 and the Utility Accommodation Policy prior to the start of class.


  • Internet access is available at the training facility.  The internet password will be provided when you arrive at the training site.


  • Registration cost covers training, testing, certification, lunches, refreshments and professional development hours.  If you have food allergies please contact Kris Lowes at or 317-233-2063 to make arrangements for a suitable lunch.
