TIPTON, Ind. (July 8, 2014)The Indiana Department of Child Services (DCS) announced today Elizabeth Dickerson has been appointed the office director for the Indiana Department of Child Services, Tipton County office. In her new role Dickerson will set goals and objectives for child welfare management helping to ensure children are protected from abuse or neglect. In addition, she’ll oversee a staff of three family case managers and an administrative assistant. She’ll also handle general office operations.

“Elizabeth brings a wealth of experience with her and we’re pleased to have her take the reins for Tipton County,” said Jane Bisbee, DCS’ Deputy Director of Field Operations. “Her background working with children with developmental disabilities as well as her experience as both a DCS family case manager and supervisor will be invaluable to her as she helps strengthen families in Tipton County.”

After working several years with both adults and children with developmental disabilities for Hopewell Center in Anderson, Indiana, Dickerson became a Medicaid waiver case manager and helped move residents from Ft. Wayne State Hospital into community-based care.

Joining the Madison County office of DCS in early 2006 as a family case manager, she was promoted to supervisor later that same year and has remained in that position until her appointment as Tipton County director.

Dickerson has a Bachelor of Arts degree in social work from Anderson University and is currently pursuing a Masters degree in organizational leadership from Indiana Wesleyan University. Born and raised in Casper, Wyoming, she has lived in Indiana in Madison County since 1984.

She began her new duties June 16.
