[DNR] Mounds SP offers Indiana Master Naturalist class |

Entry Description People who want to learn more about nature and then share their knowledge with others should consider taking the Indiana Master Naturalist class at Mounds State Park this summer.
The class runs from 6 to 9:15 p.m. on Tuesday evenings from July 29 through Sept. 9.
It is sponsored by the Friends of Mounds State Park group, Mounds State Park, and Purdue Extensions in Madison and Delaware counties.
The Indiana Master Naturalist Program is an educational and volunteer initiative developed by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources and Purdue University Extension. The mission is to bring together natural resources specialists with adult learners to foster an understanding of Indiana’s plants, water, soils and wildlife and to promote volunteer service in local communities.

Phil Hallenbeck, president of the Friends of Mounds State Park, said he hopes graduates will use their newly acquired skills as volunteers for the park and the Friends group.
Class size is limited to 30 students. The fee for the class is $75. Registration is due by July 8.
