[ISP] Ripley County Crash Injures Two
Start Date: 6/4/2014Start Time: 12:00 AM
End Date: 6/4/2014
Entry Description

Ripley County: Early this afternoon two people were injured in a two vehicle crash at the intersection of S.R. 129 and S.R. 48. At approximately 1:24 a semi was southbound on S.R. 129 at the intersection of S.R. 48. The semi was stopped and preparing to make a left turn to go east on S.R. 48 however the driver may have been confused due to a detour sign indicating S.R. 48 was closed approximately four miles east. As the semi remained stopped in the roadway a 2008 Ford F350 pickup truck driven by 66 year old Roger D. Linville of Osgood was also southbound behind the semi. Linville started passing the semi on the right to continue southbound on S.R. 129. At the same time a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox driven by 68 year old Charles R. Tuttle was westbound on S.R. 48 and came through the intersection in front of the semi to continue west on S.R. 48. The Ford pickup and the Chevrolet collided in the intersection. Mr. Linville as uninjured and Mr. Tuttle complained of pain in his chest due to seat belt and airbag deployment. Mary Lee Tuttle, the 64 year old wife of Charles Tuttle suffered apparent non-life threatening head and shoulder injuries and was transported to Margaret Mary Hospital in Batesville by Batesville Rescue 10.

The crash is being investigated by Trooper Cameron McCreary. Tpr. McCreary was assisted at the scene by Senior Trooper Chris Richey, Ripley County Sheriff’s Department, Delaware Community Fire Department, Batesville Fire Department, and Rescue 10. The crash remains under investigation.
