[INDOT] Public Meeting regarding a proposed intersection improvement project at U.S. 31 and C.R. 400 South in Columbus, Bartholomew County

Entry Description

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) will host a public information meeting regarding a proposed intersection improvement project, specifically a roundabout at U.S. 31 and C.R. 400 South (1.6 miles south of SR 7) in Columbus, Bartholomew County.  The purpose of this project is to enhance safety and mobility of roadway users at the intersection. 

 

INDOT last held a public meeting regarding this project in December 2013, in which the community provided valuable input and shared a variety of concerns.  INDOT sincerely appreciates the opportunity to engage our customers and welcomes the opportunity to further engage project stakeholders on the roundabout proposal.  The intersection improvement project at U.S. 31 and C.R. 400 South was once part of a larger project which included road rehabilitation and bridge replacement on U.S. 31 from U.S. 50 to C.R. 50 North in Jackson and Bartholomew Counties.  The purpose of this meeting is to provide the community with additional information regarding the proposed roundabout (intersection improvement) project at U.S. 31 and C.R. 400 South in Columbus, Bartholomew County.

The meeting will feature an open house session beginning at 5:30pm followed by a formal presentation at 6:00pm.  During the open house session INDOT representatives will be available to address questions, comments and concerns.  Project maps, displays and project information handouts will be available for viewing throughout the duration of the evening.  In an effort to better inform the community of project developments, information will be posted to our website at: http://www.in.gov/indot/2706.htm  via the Seymour District page following the public meeting.  Please visit the INDOT website to follow project developments and to receive project news and updates.
