[ISP] Detective Kevin Getz Recognized for 20 Years of Service

Bloomington - The Superintendent of the Indiana State Police, Douglas Carter, has recognized Detective Kevin Getz for twenty years of service to the people of the State of Indiana. Detective Getz currently serves as a Southwest and Central Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Investigator where his duties include investigating all crimes involving children and the internet.

Originally from Lithopolis, Ohio, Getz is a 1986 graduate of Bloom Carroll High School. Getz then graduated from Ohio University with a degree in journalism in 1990.

Detective Getz began his law enforcement career upon being accepted to the Indiana State Police Recruit Academy in 1993. After being appointed to Trooper, he was assigned to the Evansville District where he worked Knox County. In 1995, Det. Getz transferred to the Bloomington Post where he primarily worked Lawrence and Monroe Counties. Detective Getz also served as the District Duty Officer and a Criminal Investigation Division Detective throughout his time at the Bloomington Post before being promoted to his current position with the Indiana Crimes Against Children Unit.

Detective Getz has also served on ISP Specialty Teams including Scuba, TIP (Tactical Intervention Platoon) and the ISP Honor Guard Team. Getz has also been a participant in the Cops Cycling for Survivors Bike Ride since 2007.

Detective Getz and his wife Deborah live in Monroe County with their children Elizabeth, Thomas and Katie.
