Entry Description

Wolcottville, IN (LaGrange County)-The Anti-Crime Enforcement (A.C.E) Team from the Fort Wayne Post arrested a 21-year-old Wolcottville man late Tuesday night on an arrest warrant out of Noble County after they found him hiding in an attic.

According to Trooper Caleb Anderson, he and the members of the A.C.E. Team received information as to the whereabouts of 21-year-old Zakery E. DeCamp who was wanted by authorities in Noble County for violating his probation in relation to an original charge of receiving stolen property. He had been eluding authorities for the last year.

At approximately 10:50 pm, the team arrived at an apartment in the 100 block of north 2nd Street in Wolcottville. The owner of the residence allowed the troopers to search for DeCamp, who was not found during the original search, but when they noticed an attic access door in a bedroom moving, they tried to pull the door open. DeCamp, who was in the attic, tried pulling back on the door to keep it closed. Verbal orders were given to DeCamp who was eventually escorted down by troopers.

DeCamp was taken into custody and transported to the Noble County Jail. A copy of Anderson's case will be forwarded to the LaGrange County Prosecutor's office for review for the potential of additional charges.
