Entry Description

Putnam County—This evening at 8:20, Indiana State Police Troopers and Putnam County emergency agencies responded to the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 near the 36.5 mile marker for a two-vehicle crash.

Preliminary investigation revealed a black 2004 Honda Accord, driven by Pamela S. Goedde, age 57, of Evansville, IN., was westbound in the eastbound lanes and struck a white, Volvo, tractor driven by Hardev Singh Kauldher, age 37, of Ontario, Canada, head-on. The tractor-trailer was owned by World Wide Carriers LTD of Ontario, Canada and was hauling laundry detergent.

Ms. Goedde was extricated by Cloverdale Fire/Rescue and transported by Putnam County Operation Life to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She appeared to have suffered moderate to severe internal, head, and leg injuries. Mr. Kauldher was not injured.

Five other vehicles traveled off the roadway near the crash, to avoid colliding with the black Honda. There was no damage to the vehicles or injuries to the occupants.

The investigation is ongoing and toxicology tests are pending on Ms. Goedde. No signs of impairment on Mr. Kauldher.

The crash was investigated by ISP Trooper Mike Featherling. He was assisted by various ISP Troopers, Cloverdale Police and Fire units, Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, and Putnam County Operation Life.
