Entry Description

Overnight Lane Restrictions at I-69,
116th Street & SR 37 Interchange

FISHERS, Ind. – Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) contractors plan to temporarily restrict traffic lanes during overnight hours at the Interstate 69 interchange with 116th Street and State Road 37.

Beginning Thursday, March 14 at 8 p.m., contractors plan alternating lane restrictions on the northbound I-69 Exit 205 ramp to 116th Street to modify lane markings. Ramp lanes will be shifted to the right throughout the night to allow contractors to rebuild and widen the left side of the ramp. Some short-term traffic stoppages, lasting no more than 20 minutes, may be necessary through the night.  All lane restrictions are expected to end by 5 a.m. Friday. This operation is weather and temperature sensitive and may be rescheduled according to the forecast.

Contractors will restrict the left lane of I-69 in both directions approaching the new two-lane flyover ramp to State Road 37 on Friday, March 15 at 8 p.m. The lane restriction will allow workers to complete work on the new bridge’s center pier, which was rescheduled from earlier dates due to weather. The lane restriction is expected to end by 5 a.m. Saturday.

Also on Friday, March 15, through Tuesday, March 19, contractors plan to begin placing temporary pavement for widening along southbound State Road 37. At 8 p.m., the contractor will restrict the right lane of the southbound State Road 37 ramp to I-69. The lane is expected to reopen before 5 a.m. The overnight restriction will continue each night as contractors prepare the roadway for an upcoming traffic shift.

On Tuesday, March 19, and Wednesday, March 20, beginning at 8 p.m. both nights, northbound I-69 will be restricted to a single lane for paving operations between the State Road 37 flyover and just north of the Cumberland Road overpass. The restriction will begin in the left lane and switch to the right lane around midnight. All lane restrictions are expected to end by 5 a.m.

Beginning Wednesday, March 20 at 8 p.m., contractors will begin a right lane restriction on southbound I-69 and a left lane restriction in the southbound collector-distributor ramp system for work along the concrete barrier wall near 116th Street. This restriction is also expected to end by 5 a.m., but is expected to repeat each night through the end of the week.

All schedules are subject to change based on variables such as weather and progress. For more information about Operation Indy Commute – I-69, and to sign up to receive updates throughout the project, visit
