Temporary Traffic Signal on S.R. 46 in Owen County

Signal to be used to control traffic through work zone

 

SPENCER, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) is advising motorists that a new temporary traffic signal at Fish Creek and Rattlesnake Creek Bridges will be installed along State Road 46 (S.R. 46) in Owen County. 

 

Beginning on or after Monday, March 11, Dave O’Mara Contractors will start a bridge deck resurfacing project on both Fish Creek and Rattlesnake Creek Bridges. One lane of the roadway will need to be closed to allow crews to perform work on the bridge.  A signal will be installed at these locations to move traffic through the work zone.  Motorists should expect minimal delays and lane restrictions.  Project completion is scheduled for November, 2013.

 

Dave O’Mara Contractors also expect to begin road widening work along the south side of S.R. 46 in Spencer. This work is part of the overall project designed to enhance safety by addressing alignment deficiencies, shoulder widths, intersection geometrics, and spot improvements.  Two lanes of traffic will be maintained throughout the project to minimize driver inconvenience.
