Entry Description National FFA Week: February 16-23, 2013
This year’s FFA Week theme is Grow, and it celebrates more than 80 years of FFA traditions while eagerly anticipating the organization’s future. Through agricultural education and hands‐on learning, FFA members are preparing for the more than 300 career opportunities in the food, fiber and natural resources industry.
The week of George Washington’s birthday was designated as National FFA Week in 1947 at a National FFA Board of Directors meeting. FFA Week always runs from Saturday to Saturday, and encompasses February 22, Washington’s birthday.
Monday, February 18
1p.m. Governor Pence and Lt. Governor Ellspermann Join the Kick Off of National FFA Week
Governor Mike Pence and Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann will join the Indiana kick off celebration of National FFA Week. The Governor and Lt. Governor will meet for a brief meeting and photo opportunity with the Indiana FFA Officers and more than 100 members for FFA Page Day on Monday, Feb. 18 at 1 p.m. at the Statehouse.

First Free Instructional Sessions Available for Producers Tuesday!
ISDA is hosting a series of producer workshops across the state as part of the Certified Livestock Producer Program (CLPP). Each workshop is free of charge and will include industry experts in the five areas of focus for the CLPP program: commitment to the environment, animal well-being, food safety, emergency planning, biosecurity and being a good neighbor in their community.
