Entry Description STATEHOUSE (Feb. 4, 2013) – State Sen. Sue Landske (R-Cedar Lake) recently welcomed the following local students to the Statehouse, where they served as Senate pages:
-
Jake Bailey, from Schererville, attends Grimmer Middle School.
-
Suzanne Brown, from Cedar Lake, attends Hanover Central Middle School.
Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing some debates from the chamber floor and interacting with their state senators.
“As always, I am eager to have students from our district come visit the Statehouse and learn about the legislative process,” Landske said. “I encourage others to come to the Capitol and observe how laws are enacted.”
Students in grades six through 12 can participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays through April 4.
