Entry Description
Frankfort- Thursday afternoon, at approximately 12:15 PM, Trooper Ashley Kelly, Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division, observed a commercial vehicle on SR 28 with an unsecure load. The vehicle also appeared to possibly have been in violation of its registered weight. Upon her initial contact with the driver, Trooper Kelly detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the cab of the truck. The driver admitted to Trooper Kelly that he had “taken a hit” of the marijuana. The driver had two passengers, one of them being his son. Both passengers were in possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.
Trooper Mike Krueger, Lafayette District, assisted Trooper Kelly by obtaining a blood draw from the driver and making the OWI arrest.
Arrested were the driver, Joseph Murray, age 43 charged with OWI controlled substance, class C misdemeanor and passengers Nicholas Murray, age 21 and Dillon Jones, age 20 both charged with possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia, class A misdemeanors.
Also assisting were Master Trooper Roger Dickison, CVED and Sergeant Rich Kelly, CVED, and officers of the Frankfort Police Department. |
