End Date: 7/26/2013End Time: 11:59 PM
Entry Description

Clay County—On Thursday evening July 25th around 5:30, Indiana State Police responded to the 14000 block of County Road 200 West in southern Clay County for a report of a 15-year-old female who was found semi-conscious in a nearby field.

Troopers arrived and found the female had already been transported from the scene by Trans Care EMS to Terre Haute Regional Hospital for treatment. Further investigation revealed the female was found by a passing motorist lying semi-conscious in a farm field just north of her residence. She appeared to have a laceration to her forehead area. The passerby called 911 and stayed with the victim until arrival of law enforcement and EMS.

Continuing the investigation at the hospital, troopers were given information that the teenager was in a pasture area on her farm, when an unknown assailant came from behind and struck her on the head. The alleged assailant then left the area. There was no description of the assailant provided to law enforcement.

A few days prior to this incident, a similar event occurred to the female in the town of Jasonville (Greene County). Please contact the Jasonville Police Department for details of that incident.

The investigation is ongoing, but the Indiana State Police believes there is absolutely no danger to the public.

The investigation was conducted by ISP Master Todd Brown, Trooper Mike Finney, and Trooper Ian Portteus.

Direct any questions to ISP Sergeant Joe Watts.
