Kendallville, IN (Noble Co.)-A 66-year-old Larwill man was arrested by the Indiana State Police last evening following an altercation with hospital staff following his hospitalization for his extreme intoxication.

According to Trooper Justin Snyder, last night at approximately 7:10 p.m. he responded to Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville because of an altercation that was occurring between a patient, nurses and a hospital security guard.

When he arrived at approximately 7:12 p.m., he went immediately to the emergency room where he found multiple nurses and the security guard holding down 66-year-old Scott A. Sponable on a bed. Sponable who was hospitalized with a blood alcohol content of 0.27%, allegedly punched the 58-year-old security guard from Wolcottville in the face.

After he was restrained in handcuffs by Snyder, Sponable allegedly made verbal threats of violence towards the trooper. Sponable was cleared by the medical staff for incarceration and he was taken to and incarcerated in the Noble County Jail on preliminary charges of intimidation, battery, public intoxication and disorderly conduct. The Noble County Prosecutor's Office will levy official charges in this case.
