Entry Description
State Sen. Tom Wyss (R-Fort Wayne) made the following statement today
recognizing former Sen. John R. Sinks for his service to the State of Indiana:
STATEHOUSE (Jan. 15, 2013) – “John was a close friend of mine from the day I began my work on the Allen County Council.
“He was a servant to his community in many positions: a veteran, a teacher, a child advocate and a lawmaker. I used to say I wish I could represent my constituents the way John could with his. He was always mindful of his role as a leader and never shied away from that responsibility.
“I will consider myself a success if I am half the man that John was. My deepest sympathies are with his family and friends.”
Sen. John R. Sinks served for 12 years in the Indiana House of Representatives and 20 years in the Indiana Senate until his retirement in 1996. Following his passing on Dec. 8, 2012, at the age of 83, the General Assembly passed a concurrent resolution today memorializing him. |
