Entry Description
State Sen. Jim Tomes (R-Wadesville) made the following statement today in response to Gov. Mike Pence’s State of the State Address:
STATEHOUSE (Jan. 22, 2013) —“It’s up to Indiana’s elected officials at all levels of government to work in the best interest of the people and create a better future for our children and grandchildren. Governor Pence said that we must, first of all, get Hoosiers back to work. I couldn’t agree more — this is a top priority for me.
“At the same time, I’d encourage my fellow lawmakers to also work to protect the traditional liberties afforded to us by our state Constitution. We must guard against attacks on personal privacy and property rights — to ensure Indiana is a great place for coming generations to live and work — while also promoting public safety through logic and sound policies.”
