Entry Description
State Sen. Jim Smith (R-Charlestown) made the following statement today regarding Governor Pence’s State of the State Address:
STATEHOUSE (Jan. 22, 2013) – “Governor Pence’s speech tonight certainly set the tone for a productive legislative session and a fiscally responsible budget year. I know the governor, along with my colleagues in the Senate, are committed to building on Indiana’s sound tax and economic development policies which are helping to bring more jobs to all parts of our state.
“It’s pretty clear that holding the line on wasteful government spending and letting Hoosiers keep more of their hard-earned money results in the growth of small businesses, new job creation and stronger, more vibrant communities. I will be working this session to focus state spending only on essential services that will benefit all Hoosiers and help grow Indiana’s economy, such as roads, bridges and our education system.”
