Jefferson County: Last night (August 24) at approximately 9:00 p.m. Trooper Matt Holley responded to a crash with serious injury on S.R. 62 near Chicken Run Road in Jefferson County.  According to Tpr. Holley, 23 year old David C. Hamblin of Milton, KY was northbound on S.R. 62 in the center of the left lane on a 2003 Yamaha scooter.  A 2004 Dodge Stratus driven by 23 year old Amanda N. Parker of Madison was also northbound on S.R. 62 in the left lane when she struck the rear of the scooter ejecting Hamblin.  As Hamblin lay in the left lane his legs were partially in the right lane when a 1994 Ford Taurus driven by 71 year old Ralph D. Bilton, Jr. of Madison drove by and ran over Hamblin’s legs.  Hamblin was airlifted from the scene and flown to University Hospital in Louisville with life-threatening head injuries in addition to the leg injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.  Tpr. Holley was assisted by Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, Madison Police Department, and Jefferson County EMS.
