[INDOT] Public Open House regarding U.S. 50 North Vernon Bypass Project (Eastern Section) in North Vernon, Jennings County

Entry Description
The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) will hold a public open house regarding alternatives being considered for the eastern section of the U.S. 50 North Vernon Bypass Project on Thursday, September 6, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the cafeteria at Jennings County Middle School, 820 West Walnut Street in North Vernon. 

The purpose of the open house is to provide information regarding the goals of the project and potential alternatives developed to date, and to allow attendees an opportunity to ask questions and provide input.  The open house format will allow the community to view displays and talk with the project team in an informal setting. 

INDOT is considering several alternatives to complete the eastern section (Phase Two) of the U.S. 50 North Vernon Bypass.  The proposed new highway alignments begin where the first phase of bypass construction meets State Road 3, approximately 1,200 feet south of C.R. 350 N.  The eastern terminus of the bypass will depend on the final alternatives selected during the project devlelopment process.  

The western section (Phase One) of the U.S. 50 North Vernon Bypass between C.R. 400 W and S.R. 3 is scheduled to open in December 2013.  For additional information regarding the public open house and both phases of the U.S. 50 North Vernon Bypass Project, please contact Rickie Clark, INDOT Office of Public Involvement at (317) 232-6601 rclark@indot.in.gov or visit the project website at: www.in.gov/indot/div/projects/us50/northvernon.
