Entry Description
There are a lot of resources out there covering the wheelchair access rules in the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), but did you know the ADA also covers other power-driven mobility devices, like Segways, golf cars, and all-terrain vehicles? On Tuesday, August 21, tune in to an audio conference from ADA-Indiana to learn more. Some businesses and organizations may be required to consider whether or not they can make "reasonable modifications" to allow individuals who use these devices to enter their premises. Learn the factors that go into determining whether or not it is "reasonable," and what is happening nationally to address this issue.
This audio conference will be 2:00 to 3:30 pm ET at ten locations: Bloomington, Columbus, Corydon, Fort Wayne, Gary, Indianapolis, Muncie, Terre Haute, Versailles, and West Lafayette. For location addresses, visit http://www.adaindiana.org/audio/default.asp .
Can't make it in person? Listen online at http://ada-audio.org/ProgramInformation/ .
For questions or more information, contact ADA-Indiana at adainfo@indiana.edu or (812) 855-6508. |
