Entry Description The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) will hold a public meeting on Thursday, August 16, 2012 from 5p.m. to 8p.m. at the Fishers Town Hall Auditorium, 1 Municipal Drive in Fishers, Hamilton County. This meeting includes a project presentation at 6:30pm. Project team member will be available to address questions regarding the project that will improve I-69 traffic between I-465 and 116th Street / State Road 37 interchanges. The project is part of INDOT's Operation Indy Commute, an initiative that aims to open congested areas on two Indiana highways, I-69 and I-65.
Operation Indy Commute was launched in December 2010 with work beginning on I-69 in April. Toward the end of 2013, work is anticipated to be completed with wider shoulders and more lanes to accommodate traffic traveling in and out of the 116th Street interchange. The project also will add a new flyover ramp that will carry two lanes of northbound traffic from I-69 to S.R. 37.
