Entry Description
Monroe & Morgan Counties - While patrolling in a high crash zone, Trooper Chris Griggs stopped a vehicle traveling northbound on State Road 37, north of Martinsville for a tail light violation. The driver identified himself as Christopher L. Etheridge, 27 of Indianapolis. While speaking with Etheridge and the female passenger, Trooper Griggs found verbal clues, criminal indicators and conflicting stories from both that revealed that criminal activity was afoot.
Trooper Griggs continued his investigation and found the female passenger to be 13 years old. Trooper Griggs further found the two had met online; Etheridge had picked her up in Indianapolis and drove her to the Morgan Monroe State Forest where the two allegedly engaged in sexual activity.
Etheridge was transported to, processed and lodged at the Monroe County Jail on the charge of Child Molest, “A” Felony.
If convicted, Etheridge could serve 20 to 50 years in prison and pay up to $10,000 in fines.
All subjects are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. |
