Yesterday morning, a narcotics investigation by the Indiana State Police, the Logansport Police Department, the Cass County Sheriff’s Department, the Kankakee Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Cass County Prosecutor’s Office, the Illinois Attorney General’s Office, and the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Indiana led to 29 people being arrested on felony drug charges.

Early yesterday morning, officers executed arrest and search warrants in Carroll, Cass, Clinton, Howard, Miami, and Tippecanoe Counties, in Indiana, and Iroquois and Vermillion Counties in Illinois. Based upon these warrants, officers arrested 29 individuals on federal and state felony drug charges.

The investigation was initiated by officers from the Logansport Police Department, the Cass County Sheriff’s Department, and the Indiana State Police, but eventually led to multiple agencies investigating suspects in six counties in north central Indiana and two counties in east central Illinois. While serving the multiple warrants, officers seized approximately 13 pounds of suspected marijuana, LSD, psilocybin mushrooms, firearms, a marijuana grow operation with approximately 200 plants, approximately 37 grams of suspected cocaine, $34,000 in United States currency, 10 vehicles, and two jet skis.

• Kenneth Fox, 44, Logansport, IN, state charges for cultivating marijuana and felony possession of marijuana
• Andres Garcia, 55, Hoopeston, IL, federal charges for conspiracy to deal cocaine and marijuana
• Patrick Fox, 46, Lake Cicott, IN, state charges for dealing and cultivating marijuana cultivating  

Three individuals were also arrested to face state felony charges in Illinois:

• Ricardo Guardia, 19, Illinois state charge for possession of cannabis
• Jaremy Simms, 23, Illinois state charges for possession of a controlled  substance with the intent to deliver within a 1000 feet of a park, unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, and armed violence.
• Wendy Stone, 32, Illinois state charge for possession of cannabis with intent to deliver.

As a direct result of yesterday’s warrant services, Rodney Walters, 52, Delphi, IN, was arrested on felony state charge for possession of marijuana and a misdemeanor count for possession of drug paraphernalia. He was not a target in the original investigation.

This investigation is ongoing.

It should be emphasized that an indictment is merely an allegation and that all persons charged are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in court
