St. Croix, Perry County:  The Indiana State Police and the Perry County Sheriff’s Office were called to a rural northern Perry County residence last night for the report of a dead female.

At approximately 8:14 p.m. CDT Tell City Dispatch Center received a 911 call from 26790 North SR 37, St. Croix in reference to dead female in the residence.  Deputies arrived to find Jamie Renee Stowe, 31 dead inside the residence.  Deputies immediately secured the residence and called for assistance from the Indiana State Police Criminal Investigations Division and Crime Scene Investigators.

Preliminary investigation reveals that Jamie and her fiancé Henry Lee Whistle, 36 had gotten into a physical altercation.  Through the investigation detectives established enough probable cause to preliminarily charge Whistle with Battery a class C- Felony.  Whistle was transported to the Perry County Jail without incident.

An autopsy is scheduled for later today in Tell City.  Once the autopsy results are in, the case will be forwarded to the Perry County Prosecutor’s Office for their review and determination if any further charges will be filed.
