[ISP] Crash on US 41 Critically Injures Motorcyclist

Entry Description

Knox County – Saturday evening, June 2, at approximately 5:13 p.m., Sergeant Jason Allen was patrolling southbound U.S. 41 near Stokley Road when he observed a 2001 Harley Davidson motorcycle speeding northbound.  Allen clocked the motorcycle at 77 mph.  As Allen was attempting to catch up to the motorcycle without lights and siren, the rider lost control and crashed near Rehwald Road, which is approximately ¾ mile north of Stokley Road.  The rider, David Davis, 38, of Bruceville, was airlifted to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville where he is currently being treated for life-threatening injuries.  Davis was not wearing a helmet.  Further investigation revealed alcohol was a factor. 

The investigation is continuing.
