Entry Description
Indiana State Police Troopers will join five other state police agencies for the 6-State Trooper Project, a collaboration between Indiana and surrounding states to remove impaired drivers from the roadways.
During the two-day enforcement effort, ISP will conduct checkpoints and saturation patrols throughout the state.
ISP asks the public to help make Indiana roadways safer by observing the following tips:
Plan ahead and always use a designated driver.
• Don’t get behind the wheel of a vehicle if you’ve consumed alcoholic beverages; instead call a taxi, a family member, or friend who has not been drinking to give you a ride.
• If you are hosting a party, always offer non-alcoholic beverages and make sure all of your guests leave with a sober driver or allow them to spend the night.
• Remember: Friends Don’t Let Friends Drive Drunk. Take the keys and never let a friend leave your sight if you think they might drive while impaired.
Anyone observing erratic driving should contact the police immediately and be prepared to give a detailed description of the vehicle, its location, and direction of travel. Callers can remain anonymous. |
