| [INDOT] I-69 Overnight Lane Restrictions at 116th/SR 37 |
|
Entry Description
I-69 Overnight Lane Restriction
To Install Concrete Barrier Wall
FISHERS, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) plans overnight single lane restrictions on northbound Interstate 69 at the Exit 5 interchange with 116th Street and State Road 37. The overnight restrictions will begin—weather permitting—at 10 p.m. Monday, May 7 and Tuesday, May 8 and will end by 5 a.m. the following mornings.
Milestone Contractors, the state’s contractor for the $18 million Operation Indy Commute project, will be installing temporary concrete barrier wall on northbound I-69 during the nighttime operation. Northbound I-69 is currently restricted to two lanes from Exit 5 to north of State Road 37 for reconstruction of a new double-lane flyover ramp to State Road 37. Traffic exiting northbound I-69 to 116th Street and State Road 37 is restricted to a single lane. This traffic configuration is scheduled to last until October.
The Operation Indy Commute project is an initiative by INDOT to strategically eliminate recurring commuting bottlenecks on I-69 in Marion and Hamilton Counties. The program is modeled after successful, quick-turnaround traffic flow improvements built in other states under the Federal Highway Administration’s Localized Bottleneck Reduction Program.
