Entry Description
Ramp to Eastbound I-70 Opens Early
Installation of Large Sculpture Complete
INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) expects to reopen today the entrance ramp to eastbound I-70 accessed from southbound Meridian Street/Madison Avenue and McCarty Street.
INDOT permitted the installation of a large sculpture at the interchange. The ramp was closed Monday, March 26 for the safety of installation crews and drivers. Concrete barrier wall was also placed along the interstate shoulder and merge lane to eastbound I-70 to protect project crews during the delivery and construction of the sculpture.
The ramp was expected to reopen on Friday, March 30, but installation crews’ hard work and good weather allowed for faster than expected progress. For more information about this artwork project, visit http://www.kibi.org/life_evolving.
Drivers can learn the locations of work zones and highway restrictions before departing by calling INDOT’s TrafficWise at 1-800-261-ROAD (7623) or by viewing an online map at www.TrafficWise.IN.gov.
Quick links to information about work zone restrictions and roadway conditions, as well as the latest INDOT news can be found at www.indot.in.gov. |
