Entry Description
STATEHOUSE (March 7, 2012) – State Sen. Mike Young (R-Indianapolis) released the following statement regarding Senate Bill 1.
“Senate Republicans are dedicated to giving police officers more legal protections while also reaffirming law-abiding citizens’ right to self-defense. I’m confident we’ll reach an agreement that upholds our long-standing “Castle Doctrine” – which allows homeowners to resist anyone who invades their homes unlawfully – while also protecting police officers who lawfully carry out their duty to serve and protect our communities.”
