Entry Description
WAYNE COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) will restrict traffic at the intersection of US 40 and Hiser Station Road as replacement of the Hiser Creek Bridge begins.
The eastbound right lane of US 40 will be closed at the intersection of US 40 and Hiser Station Road beginning Tuesday, March 13. The two lanes of westbound US 40 will remain unaffected.
Access to and from Hiser Station Road will also be restricted at this intersection. Notice of road closure will be posted at the intersection of Sample and Hiser Station Roads.
The bridge replacement will require the lane restriction on US 40 and closure of Hiser Station Road at US 40 throughout the project, which is expected to be complete in May.
The concrete bridge, which was built in 1935, spans over Hiser Creek and is located west of Centerville between Washington and Swallow Roads on the south side of US 40.
Milestone Contractors was awarded the contract to reconstruct the bridge based on its low bid of $281,950. The new precast reinforced concrete structure will be 10 feet tall and will span 24 feet across the creek. |
