Entry Description
Connersville – Early this morning just before 2:30 a.m. Trooper Aaron Edwards was driving through Connersville on Central Avenue when he saw a red Chevrolet Cobalt run the red light at Central and 6th Street.
Disregarding an automatic signal is a leading cause of crashes in the Pendleton District and in the state of Indiana.
Trooper Edwards stopped the vehicle and after further investigation, arrested the driver Angela Rose, 32, of Connersville, for suspicion of Driving While Intoxicated with a Previous Conviction within Five Years, Class “D” Felony.
Connersville Police Officer Chris Scott was nearby and assisted with his K-9 partner Reno. Reno walked around the outside of the vehicle and alerted on the vehicle signaling the presence of narcotics. A search of the vehicle located less than 30 grams of marijuana.
Rose was lodged in the Fayette County Jail for Operating While Intoxicated, Class “D” Felony, and Possession of Marijuana under 30 grams, Class “A” Misdemeanor. Bond was set at $1,000. Anyone with information about illegal drug use may call the Pendleton Post at 1-800-527-4752, or the Indiana State Police Drug Tip Line at 1-800-453-4756. Tips can be made and kept anonymous.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. |
