[INDOT] Public Information regarding the Illiana Corridor Project in Matteson, Illinois.

Entry Description
The Illinois and Indiana Departments of Transportation (IDOT, INDOT), along with stakeholders, have identfied the transportation needs for the Illiana study area, identified a range of alternatives, evaluated a range of representative major corridors and modes of transportation.  After a series of seven Corridor Planning Group meetings and two public information meetings that involved elected officlas, community representatives, agencies, and interested stakeholders, IDOT and INDOT are presenting the best performing corridor(s) to carry forward for further studies.  Corridors are being evaluated to create the best blend of transportation performance, minimizing impacts to the built and natural environment, compatibility with local plans, and financial viability. 

The meetings will be an open house format, and interested persons may attend anytime between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.  There will be a continous PowerPoint presentation, and attendees will have the opportunity to view study exhibits, provide comments and speak with IDOT, INDOT and study team representatives on an individual basis.  A question and answer forum will be held at 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. each day.

The second of two public meetings will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Matteson Hotel and Conference Center (Holiday Inn), 500 Holiday Plaza Drive in Matteson, Illinois.
