[INDOT] Public Information Meeting regarding the Illiana Corridor Project, Crown Point, Lake County.

Entry Description
The Illinois and Indiana Departments of Transportation (IDOT, INDOT), along with stakeholders, have identified the transportation needs for the Illiana study area, identified a range of alternatives, evaluated a range of representative major corridors and modes of transportation.  After a series of seven Corridor Planning Group meetings and two public information meetings that involved elected officials, community representatives, agencies, and interested stakeholders, IDOT and INDOT are presenting the best performing corridor(s) to carry forward for further studies.  Corridors are being evaluated to create the best blend of transportation performance, minimizing impacts to the built and natural environment, compatibility with local plans, and financial viability. 

The meetings will be an open house format, and interested persons may attend anytime between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.  There will be a continuous PowerPoint presentation, and attendees will have the opportunity to view study exhibits, provide comments and speak with IDOT, INDOT and study team representatives on an individual basis.  A question and answer forum will be held at 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. each day.

The first of two Illiana Corridor Public Information Meetings will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. (local time) at the Crown Point High School, 1500 South Main Street in Crown Point, Indiana.
