Entry Description
Putnam County—Indiana State Police and Putnam County emergency agencies responded to a one-vehicle crash at 9:13AM this morning on Interstate 70 near the 37 mile marker.
Preliminary investigation revealed a silver, 2005, Nissan Quest SUV was traveling eastbound on Interstate 70 near the 37mm, when the vehicle suddenly veered to the left and struck the guardrail. The driver, Jeffrey Lipko, age 23, of Princeton, IN. was transported by Putnam County Operation Life to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis for complaint of lower back pain. Lipko was cited for unreasonable speed.
Witnesses to the crash reported the Nissan Quest was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed with the vehicle’s emergency warning lights activated and suddenly lost control.
Lipko was reportedly in a hurry to get to an Indianapolis area hospital where a family member was scheduled for treatment.
Indiana State Police Trooper Adam Edwards investigated the crash. Assisting were ISP Master Troopers Matt Ames and Chuck Tharp, Putnam County Operation Life, Cloverdale Police Department and the Cloverdale Township Fire Department.
Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. |
