Entry Description
Pike County – A Pikeville homeowner escaped injury at 7:16 this morning after a truck and trailer drove off S.R. 257 and crashed into his mobile home located near the highway.
Preliminary investigation revealed Michael Calhoun, 23, of Evansville, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet utility truck and trailer northbound on S.R. 257 in Pikeville. The trailer was loaded with construction material. Calhoun failed to negotiate a sharp curve and left the roadway on the east side colliding into two parked vehicles and a mobile home. The homeowner was still asleep when the utility truck crashed into his bedroom. Neither the homeowner nor Calhoun was injured. Both of the homeowner’s vehicles and mobile home were totaled. Calhoun’s utility truck was also totaled. Calhoun was cited for speed too fast to avoid a collision.
