[INDOT] Public Information Meeting regarding the S.R. 641 Project in Terre Haute, Vigo County PHASES III & IV

Entry Description
The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) will hold a public information meeting on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 in the Terre Haute South High School cafeteria, 3737 South 7th Street in Terre Haute, beginning at 5:00pm (informal public open house session), formal presentation to begin at 6:00pm.

PHASE III extends from just northeast of Feree Road to east of Riley Road and PHASE IV begins east of Riley Road to the I-70 interchange. 

The purpose of this meeting is to provide the community with updated information regardingt the status of the project and to allow the project team the opportunity to meet with project stakeholders.  INDOT continues to work diligently as project development activities progress.  INDOT recently awarded a construction contract for PHASE III and is continuing project development activities for PHASE IV.  The completion of PHASES III and IV of S.R. 641 will complete the bypass around the southern portion of Terre Haute thus reducing congestion and providing a primary link to the local and state road networks. 

The meeting will feature an open house session beginning at 5:00pm followed by a formal presentation at 6:00pm.  During the open house session INDOT representatives will be available to address questions, comments and concerns.  Project maps, displays and project information handouts will be available for viewing throughout the duration of the evening.  In an effort to better inform the community of project developments, information will be posted to our website at: via the Public Involvement page immediately following the meeting.

In the event of inclement weather causing hazardous road conditions and/or resulting in the closure of the Terre Haute South High School on 2/21/12, INDOT will reschedule the meeting for another date and new meeting notificiation will be issued.
