[INDOT] Public Hearing regarding a proposed roundabout intersection project on S.R. 38 at C.R. 300 West in Pendleton, Madison County.

Entry Description
The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 6:00 pm at the Pendleton Heights Middle School in the Large Group Instruction (LGI) Room located at 7450 South 300 West, Pendleton, Indiana. 

The purpose of the public hearing is to offer all interested persons an opportunity to comment on current design plans for the proposed State Road (SR) 38 roundabout intersection improvement project at C.R. 300 West, approximately 0.3 mile east of U.S. 36 / S.R. 9 / S.R. 67 located in Madison County.  The total project length is approximately 0.2 mile. 

The proposed project for the S.R. 38 roadway section will consist of two 12 ft wide travel lanes and the roadway for the C.R. 300 West will consist of two 10 ft lanes.  Project features include the construction of 2ft shoulders and 2ft 6 inch combined curb and gutter(mountable) along the inside of the roundabout lane.  A 4ft utility strip and a 5ft concrete walk will be provided behind the curb and gutter for both S.R. 38 and C.R. 300 West.  Landscaping is proposed inside the roundabout and within the utility strip is planned by the Town of Pendleton and is proposed to be incorporated within the project. 

An official state detour segments of S.R. 9 / S.R. 67, U.S. 36 and S.R. 109 will be used to maintain traffic during construction.  Local routes may be used by local traffic.  The tentative timetables for right-of-way acquisition and construction will be discussed during the formal presentation.
