Entry Description
Jennings County: Yesterday evening at approximately 8:41 p.m. Jennings County Dispatch received a 911 call of a plane crash south of County Road 600 South in Jennings County. Officers responded to the scene and located a small, what is believed to be a single engine Cessna out in a field several hundred yards from the roadway. Officers reported two fatalities; one male and one female.
UPDATED INFORMATION:
The victims of yesterday evening’s plane crash in Jennings County have been identified as 55 year old Gregory L. Wehr and 55 year old Candace S. Wehr (husband and wife) both of Versailles. They were enroute back to Madison Municipal Airport from Chicago when their 1968 single engine Cessna went down in a field several hundred yards south of County Road 600 South in Jennings County. FAA officials arrived on scene last night just after midnight to begin their investigation. It could be several weeks before the cause of the crash has been determined. Further media inquiries regarding the cause of the crash should be directed to the Federal Aviation Administration. |
