Hershman Appointed to NCSL Post 

( STATEHOUSE) – State Senate President Pro Tempore Robert Garton (R-Columbus) announced last week that he has appointed State Sen. Brandt Hershman (R-Wheatfield) to be Indiana's State-Federal Coordinator for the National Conference of State Legislatures.

Each state names a State-Federal Coordinator that is responsible for liaison between state legislators and NCSL representatives in Washington D.C.

“I am confident that Sen. Hershman will do well in his new position,” Garton said. “He has experience working with Congress, and is highly knowledgeable of what Indiana expects from Washington.”

In addition to his Senate seat, Hershman works as District Operations Director for U.S. Rep. Steve Buyer. As State-Federal Coordinator, Hershman will report Indiana's concerns to NCSL, which will then try to advance those initiatives in the nation's capitol.

Hershman represents District 7, which includes portions of Jasper, White, Tippecanoe, Carroll, Clinton and Howard counties.
