"If I Were a State Representative" Essay Contest Guidelines
Entry Due Date : 11:59 pm, December 16, 2009.
Eligibility: Students must be a senior in high school and reside or attend school in House District 28. To check if you are eligible visit http://10.100.6.53/districtlookup/Default.aspx.
Topic: All essays should be written on one of the following topics under the theme, "If I Were a State Representative:"
Essays should be no more than 800 words in length, double spaced and written with a 12 point font. The essay must be the original work of the student.
Judging: All essays will be judged anonymously by Representative Thompson. The essays will be judged on the basis of originality, clarity and creativity.
Submitting your Essay: Essays should be submitted via e-mail or mail. Essays must be postmarked by December 16 to be eligible. Essays can be mailed to:

The submission should include a cover sheet with the title of the essay, the full name of the student along with their home address and the name of their school.
Essays can be e-mailed to h28@in.gov. The essay should be included as an attachment to the e-mail. The body of the e-mail should include the title of the essay, the student's full name, home address and name of their school.
Awards: The winning contestants will be notified in January 2010. The winners will be invited to Rep. Thompson's office at the Statehouse during the 2010 regular session of the Indiana General Assembly.
